Meet Your Guide

Hi! My name is Asad Dandia, and I'm a born-and-bred New Yorker with a deep passion for storytelling. And, like many New Yorkers, I’m highly opinionated, always on the move, and lack a driver’s license. Taking me out of Gotham is sort of like taking a fish out of water. I flop! The water is essential to my life (the Hudson River doesn’t count). I've always loved this place, but my story as a professional storyteller really began after the pandemic, when I realized that there is still yet so much for me to discover.

New York is the most popular and most-written about city in the world, but it is so massive that people often don’t know where to begin. I like to think of New York as a series of narratives, composed by everyday people like you and me. How does one narrate the city? Whose narratives are uplifted, and whose are erased? What are the many ways in which we can “narrate” New York? These are questions I yearn to answer, and New York Narratives was born out of that yearning.

On our narrative tours, we cover a wide range of topics. And, as with every narrative, we will drop facts and information, of course. But really, what we want to leave you with is a compelling story. And maybe, along the way, empower you to tell your own.
